EXPLORE AND CONQUER.
1. Pre-Download the Mod Lists linked above in the navigation menu. You only need to download the server you want to start on for now. (Ragnarok is our permanent non-wiping server.) You can download the other mod pack at another time if you have slow download speeds.

2. Create a character using our character creation guides. Choose a race from the list - you can choose another race not listed but you will have to use one of the potions listed for the racial stat bonuses that are built into the mod.

You have a lot of freedom for what character you play, but this is an established pre-existing world and lore. Build your character into it along with racial and religious biases mentioned in the World Building guide.

3. When you spawn in you will notice that the fantasy shapes naturalism 2 mod allows you to be more creative with the body and color sliders. Use this to help create a more believable character. If you abuse this, not only are monstrosities and extremely tiny characters kos by anyone on the server, it will also get you removed permanently.

Refer to the race page as each race has specific colors that are allowed. If you choose something like a bright pink or non-rp color, your character will be destroyed by an admin and you'll get one more chance to make an appropriate rp character before being removed permanently.

Once you have created your character you are recommended to spawn Viking Bay 1 to retrieve your race potion. You are not required to by any means, but the racial potions will give you your stat boosts and you may want to utilize them in early game.

The stats will be applied retroactively to any levels as well though so there is no need to retrieve your racial potion right away.
​
Viking Bay 1 is home to the NPC City: Port I'llathlune. It is called an NPC City because admin spawned items will be available for purchase there. The city itself will not be spawned in because the admins want to enjoy playing too, so if you visit Port I'llathlune on launch day there will not be much of anything there.

The NPC City is where you can find:

Auction House
Gold Exchange
Uncraftable Items for sale
Bounty Board
Pub/Rumormill

Solos or non-builders are welcome to purchase a plot of land in the NPC City and live there. All tribes are welcome to build a small outpost in Viking Bay, park their boats and water tames, and put up a shop.

The Port Master will function as an NPC. There is an overarching story that you can uncover and recieve quests for if you ask the right questions or gain trust.
​
Use this admin/npc character to spread rumors, report crimes, post bounties, and pass along information.
Once you spawn into the game you are expected to be in character. Use the in game voice chat whenever possible.
​
Your actions and words here will have lasting affect on the server. Ragnarok will not be wiped, so it will be a living and breathing realm.
Each season we will have a sequential and overarching storyline. The season will end when the story comes to a conclusion. But be aware there will be multiple endings which will have a permanent effect on the world so uncover the parts of the story that you can.

At the end of the day, have fun with it. This is a serious rp server but your character does not have to be a serious character. We all just want to have a good time.
